BDV EDU INTL issued a profit warning, expecting that the annual loss attributable to shareholders for the year ending June 30, 2025, will expand to no less than approximately HKD 51.65 million, a significant increase from HKD 27.56 million in 2024. The loss is primarily due to goodwill impairment, impairment of trade receivables and contract assets, as well as impairment of loan receivables. The board pointed out that the slow recovery of the Hong Kong economy is the main reason for the increase in asset impairment
According to the Zhitong Finance APP, BDV EDU INTL (01082) announced that the group expects to incur a loss attributable to the owners of the company of no less than approximately HKD 51.65 million for the year ending June 30, 2025, compared to a loss of approximately HKD 27.56 million for the same period in 2024.
The board of directors believes that the expected loss is mainly due to (i) goodwill impairment loss of approximately HKD 13.15 million for the year ending June 30, 2025; (ii) impairment loss of trade receivables and contract assets of approximately HKD 22.52 million for the year ending June 30, 2025; and (iii) impairment loss of loan receivables of approximately HKD 8.08 million for the year ending June 30, 2025. Based on the principle of prudence, considering the slow recovery of the Hong Kong economic environment, these losses are primarily attributable to increased asset impairments
