The loss during the period was mainly due to (i) a fair value loss of approximately HKD 6.62 million on financial assets measured at fair value through profit or loss (2024: approximately HKD 17.41 million), primarily due to bearish sentiment in the Hong Kong and global stock markets leading to impairment losses on listed securities and private investments; (ii) an impairment loss on goodwill of approximately HKD 13.15 million (2024: zero); (iii) an impairment loss on trade receivables and contract assets of approximately HKD 22.52 million (2024: a reversal of approximately HKD 4.82 million); (iv) an impairment loss on receivable loans of approximately HKD 8.08 million (2024: approximately HKD 0.94 million), mainly based on a prudent principle, considering the slow recovery of the Hong Kong economic environment, leading to increased asset impairments
