Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo pointed out in a report that the mass production cost of Apple's foldable iPhone hinge is expected to be between $70 and $80, significantly lower than the previously expected market range of $100 to $120 per unit. This cost difference provides Apple with greater pricing flexibility while not eroding its profit margins as a flagship new product experimental project. Foxconn and New Nikko have established a joint venture to undertake most of the production tasks for the hinge units. According to Kuo's estimates, the two companies combined hold a market share of about 65%, with the remaining approximately 35% supplied by Amphenol. Kuo also noted that Luxshare Precision could join as a new hinge supplier as early as 2027
