Goldman Sachs notifies employees of plans for a new round of layoffs this year
Goldman Sachs Group has notified employees that it expects to conduct a new round of layoffs this year in order to further save costs across various businesses. According to a memorandum, Goldman Sachs stated that it will "control the growth of employee numbers until the end of the year" and plans to "limit job cuts across the company." Nevertheless, the bank's spokesperson Jennifer Zuccarelli stated in a phone call that the company expects the total number of employees to still show growth by the end of the year. As of the end of September, the company's total number of employees was 48,300, an increase of nearly 2,000 compared to the same period last year
