The centralized procurement of urological consumables in 26 provinces is advancing, and domestic companies are accelerating their layout

The centralized procurement of urological surgical consumables has made further progress, as the Chongqing Medical Security Bureau issued a notice on "Public Solicitation for Opinions." This means that the urological consumables alliance procurement covering 26 provinces, including Chongqing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, and Inner Mongolia, has officially entered the preparation stage. Ureteral stents, as key consumables in urological surgeries, have long been dominated by imported brands such as Boston Scientific and Cook. According to data from the National Medical Products Administration, there are currently 114 approved domestic ureteral stent products, but in the high-end product sector, especially in long-term indwelling products like alloy stents, imported brands still hold an advantage. The launch of this centralized procurement coincides with the normalization and institutionalization of centralized bulk procurement of medical consumables in China. The alliance procurement led by Chongqing, in conjunction with the sixth batch of national procurement, forms a policy synergy, and the urological consumables market may usher in a new round of structural adjustments and opportunities for domestic substitution
