Taiwan Semiconductor plans to increase the foundry price of 2nm wafers by 50%, putting pressure on major clients like Qualcomm and MediaTek. Industry insiders pointed out that after Taiwan Semiconductor previously announced an increase in the foundry price for the N3P process, Qualcomm's mobile chip prices are expected to rise by 16%, and MediaTek's chip prices will also increase by about 24%. Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon recently stated that they will try to retain multiple options in wafer foundry, although Intel has successfully mass-produced the 18A process, this company is currently not on the list of options. This statement has been interpreted by the industry as possibly placing Samsung on the "backup list" as a second choice
