Baidu's Luobo Kuai Pao plans to launch autonomous driving mobility service AmiGo in Switzerland
Baidu Group-SW (09888.HK) (BIDU.US) announced that its autonomous driving mobility service platform, LoBo KuaiPao, has reached a strategic cooperation with Swiss public transport operator PostBus, a subsidiary of Swiss Post, to launch the autonomous driving mobility service "AmiGo" in Switzerland.
LoBo KuaiPao expects to start fleet testing in December this year in the eastern Swiss cantons of St. Gallen, Appenzell Outer Rhodes, and Appenzell Inner Rhodes, with the goal of achieving regular and fully autonomous operations by the first quarter of 2027. At that time, passengers will be able to book vehicles through a mobile application, enjoying dedicated or ride-sharing services for up to four passengers.
Zhang Liang, General Manager of Baidu's Intelligent Driving Business Group for Europe and the Middle East, stated that he hopes to enhance the level of smart mobility in Switzerland through close cooperation with PostBus by complementing the existing public transport network. LoBo KuaiPao has customized a vehicle model for AmiGo based on its sixth-generation unmanned vehicle (RT6), featuring a detachable steering wheel design that can accommodate four passengers, which is expected to prepare for future fully unmanned operations.
As of now, LoBo KuaiPao has entered 16 cities worldwide, including Hong Kong, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, providing over 14 million services and accumulating a safe driving mileage of over 200 million kilometers
