The world's first single-unit capacity largest impact turbine nozzle has been successfully developed

Recently, the nozzle, a core component of the world's first 500-megawatt impulse hydro turbine unit independently developed by Dongfang Electric Group, passed acceptance testing. All assembly test indicators reached premium standards, and the manufacturing precision achieved micron level. It will be applied to the Datang Zhala Hydropower Station, marking a new breakthrough for China in the field of core equipment for high-head, large-capacity impulse hydro turbine units. The Datang Zhala Hydropower Station features high head, large capacity, and high altitude, with a total of 2 units of 500-megawatt impulse hydro turbine units installed, of which Dongfang Electric is responsible for the development and supply of 1 unit. This project has been selected as a major technological equipment project in the energy sector by the National Energy Administration and is currently the only hydropower project in China capable of developing and demonstrating the application of 500-megawatt high-head large-capacity impulse units. It is also the most complex impulse hydropower project under construction in the world
