
Former China Unicom Vice President Cao Xingxin sentenced to 12 years in prison for accepting bribes exceeding 26.75 million yuan
According to CCTV reports, the Intermediate People's Court of Binzhou City, Shandong Province, publicly pronounced the first-instance verdict in the bribery case of former member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice President of China Unicom, Cao Xingxin. Cao Xingxin was sentenced to 12 years in prison for bribery and fined 2 million yuan (the same below); his bribery proceeds and their fruits will be confiscated according to law and turned over to the national treasury.
The court found that from 2005 to 2024, Cao Xingxin took advantage of the convenience of his position and the favorable conditions formed by his authority and status to assist others in project contracting, job adjustments, and promotions, illegally accepting property from relevant personnel directly or through others, totaling over 26.75 million yuan
