According to the Economic Information Agency on the 4th, the Shanghai and Shenzhen power grid equipment sector saw an initial surge, with CEEPOWER (Shenzhen: 300062), San Bian Sci-Tech (Shenzhen: 002112), JSSMDL (Shanghai: 603530), and MEP (Shenzhen: 000993) all hitting the daily limit. XINTIAN TECHNOLOGY (Shenzhen: 300259) rose over 14%, Shuangjie Electric (Shenzhen: 300444) soared 8%, Sifang Co., Ltd. (Shanghai: 601126) increased 7.2%, and Siyuan Electric (Shenzhen: 002028) gained 4%.
On the news front, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella stated in a recent joint interview with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman that the current issue facing the artificial intelligence industry is not an excess of computing power, but rather a lack of sufficient electricity to support all GPU operations. "Ultimately, the biggest problem we face right now is not an excess of computing power, but electricity—specifically, whether we can build infrastructure quickly enough near power sources."
Huazheng Securities research report pointed out that according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs, the total export value of transformers reached USD 5.338 billion from January to August 2025, a year-on-year increase of 38.0%. Driven by emerging AI demand in North America, the overall demand for power equipment is on the rise, and overseas demand for power equipment continues to improve. (ry)
