The inclusion of FSD gives renters a first-hand look at Tesla’s latest software and helps the company introduce more people to its autonomous driving technology.</p> <p>Renters can also use the Tesla app to monitor and control the vehicle during their rental period, just like an owner would. This includes features such as remote climate control, charging management, and vehicle location tracking.</p> <h3>Test Before You Buy — With a Credit</h3> <p>Tesla is also offering a financial incentive for those who decide to buy after renting. Customers who order a new Tesla within seven days of returning their rental can receive up to a US$250 credit toward their purchase.</p> <p>The program is clearly aimed at encouraging potential buyers to spend extended time behind the wheel before making a commitment — a strategy that blends Tesla’s existing demo drive program with a more flexible and immersive ownership-style experience.</p> <h3>Expanding Beyond San Diego</h3> <p>Although the rental program is currently limited to Tesla’s San Diego location, it’s expected to expand to other major markets in the near future if demand proves strong.
