PLATTS: 100--PGE will need to procure 4 GW by end of decade to meet load growth

Portland General Electric (PGE) needs to procure 4 GW by the end of the decade to meet a 5% year-over-year load growth, driven by a 13% increase in industrial demand in Q3 2025. PGE reported Q3 GAAP earnings of 94 cents per diluted share, up 4.4% from last year. The utility is updating its load growth guidance to 3.5%-4.5% for 2025 and plans to invest in new transmission and renewable energy projects, including 1 GW of solar and batteries, to support Oregon's clean energy goals. PGE is negotiating contracts for these projects, expected to be finalized by early 2026.
