
CATL has started mass production of its 5th-gen LFP batteries

CATL has commenced mass production of its fifth-generation lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, achieving breakthroughs in energy density and cycle life. The company maintains a leading position in the global power battery market with a 36.6% share. CATL's innovations include the Naxtra sodium-ion battery, which reduces reliance on lithium and enhances safety. The company has invested over RMB 80 billion in R&D over the past decade and contributed significantly to China's lithium battery exports. Currently, over 20 million new energy vehicles worldwide are equipped with CATL batteries, reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 14 million tons annually.
