The S&P 500 Index closed roughly flat, with the healthcare sector up 1.4%, the financial sector up 0.9%, the technology sector up 0.1%, the telecommunications sector down 1.2%, and the energy sector down 1.4%.
The Nasdaq 100 Index closed down 0.1%, with component stocks Zscaler down 4.1%, Palantir down 3.5%, Meta and Strategy down 3%, Amazon down 2%, while Cisco, ADI, and CDW rose 3.4%, and AMD rose 9%.
UnitedHealth, Goldman Sachs, and Cisco closed up over 3%, leading the Dow component stocks, while Apple fell 0.7%, Home Depot fell 1%, Chevron fell 1.8%, and Amazon performed the worst.
The semiconductor index and the banking index rose over 1%
