But as has been the case for years, the changes still exclude owners in British Columbia. According to the updated referral prompt appearing in the Tesla app on Thursday night, Canadian owners can now earn C$20/US$15 in Tesla Credits every time someone new to Tesla completes an FSD (Supervised) demo drive using their link. The purchase portion of the program has also seen an update. If a referred buyer goes on to purchase a vehicle, the referrer will receive up to C$325/US$250 in Tesla Credits, or C$650/US$500 if the buyer adds FSD (Supervised) to their order. The new incentive only applies to the Model Y, Model 3, and Tesla’s higher-end S/X lineup and Cybertruck maintaining their existing rewards of C$325/US$250 in Tesla credits for the referrer and 3 months of FSD for the buyer. The restriction stems from the province’s Motor Dealer Act and the Vehicle Sales Authority’s interpretation of referral-based rewards, which Tesla has historically chosen to avoid rather than challenge. Each owner can earn up to 30 demo-drive credits (C$600) and up to 10 purchase-based referral rewards. While the C$20 demo-drive reward isn’t huge, it is part of a recent trend by Tesla to get more people aware of FSD. </div></div>
