"Hong Kong Stocks" Hang Seng Index closed down 188 points, Baidu fell nearly 3%, commodity stocks weakened

The Hang Seng Index opened 130 points lower, with the initial decline narrowing to 40 points, reaching a high of 26,531 points. In the afternoon, the decline expanded to 320 points, hitting a low of 26,252 points. The index closed down 188 points or 0.7% at 26,384 points; the National Index fell 69 points or 0.74% to close at 9,328 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index dropped 55 points or 1% to 5,756 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 217.613 billion.

In the tech sector, Alibaba (09988.HK) closed flat at HKD 154.9, Tencent (00700.HK) fell 0.7%, and Meituan (03690.HK) rose 0.3%. Xiaomi (01810.HK) and Kuaishou (01024.HK), which are set to announce earnings this week, fell 0.9% and 0.4%, respectively, while Baidu (09888.HK) dropped 3%. Additionally, JD.com (09618.HK) and NetEase (09999.HK) fell 1.3% and 0.5%, respectively, and Bilibili (09626.HK) declined 1.9%. Dongfang Zhenxuan (01797.HK) fell 4.2%, while Zhongruan (00354.HK) rose 4.4%.

In the mobile components sector, Sunny Optical (02382.HK), Lens Technology (06613.HK), and QiuTai (01478.HK) fell between 2.5% and 3.1%. PC manufacturer Lenovo Group (00992.HK) dropped 3.9%. In the chip sector, SMIC (00981.HK) fell 0.7%, while HuaHong (01347.HK) rose 0.4%.

CATL (03750.HK) fell 3%, Sanhua Intelligent Control (02050.HK) dropped 0.7%, and Hongteng (06088.HK) declined 3.5%. In the automotive sector, Li Auto (02015.HK) and XPeng (09868.HK) fell 2.5% and 2.7%, respectively, while BYD (01211.HK) rose 0.1%. Autonomous driving developer Pony.ai (02026.HK) increased by 5.4%, while autonomous driving chip stock Horizon Robotics (09660.HK) fell 4.1%. Lithium stocks Ganfeng (01772.HK) and Tianqi (09696.HK) rose 9% and 5.7%, respectively.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism reminded Chinese tourists to avoid traveling to Japan recently, leading travel platforms TONGCHENGTRAVEL (00780.HK) and Trip.com (09961.HK) to drop 1.6% and 3.6%, respectively, while airline stocks China Eastern Airlines (00670.HK) rose 2.8%. Movie stocks Damai Entertainment (01060.HK) and Maoyan (01896.HK) fell 4.6% and 5.4%, respectively. Pharmaceutical stocks were weak, with Kanglonghua (03759.HK) and CanSino (06185.HK) dropping 4.2% and 4%, respectively, while China National Pharmaceutical (01177.HK) and WuXi Biologics (02269.HK) fell 3% and 2.9% Commodity stocks fell, with Zijin Mining (02899.HK), Shandong Gold (01787.HK), China Gold International (02099.HK), and Zhaojin Mining (01818.HK) dropping 2.7% to 3.3%. Among resource stocks, Aluminum Corporation of China (02600.HK) and Jiangxi Copper (00358.HK) fell over 2%, while China Minmetals (01208.HK), Hongqiao Group (01378.HK), and Luoyang Molybdenum (03993.HK) dropped 3.1% to 4.4%.

In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK), Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK), and AIA Group (01299.HK) fell 0.7% to 1.3%
