Amazon and Google have been designated as "key" technology providers in the financial industry by the European Union
The EU regulatory authorities have designated 19 technology companies, including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft, as critical third-party computing providers for the financial sector. According to the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), which will be implemented by the EU starting in January 2025, three EU-level financial regulatory agencies can jointly classify certain technology providers as critical suppliers and directly supervise them
