In the tech sector, Kuaishou (01024.HK) reported a 26% increase in adjusted profit for the third quarter, with its stock opening up 2.5% at HKD 65.1. Lenovo Group (00992.HK) saw a 40.5% increase in net profit for the half-year, with its stock opening up 2.5% at HKD 9.87. Kingsoft Cloud (03896.HK) reported a loss of RMB 4.62 million in the third quarter but achieved an adjusted net profit of RMB 28.7 million, with its stock opening up 4.2% at HKD 6.2.
Alibaba (09988.HK) and Meituan (03690.HK) opened up 1.2% and 1%, respectively, while Tencent (00700.HK) opened up 0.6% and Baidu (09888.HK) opened up 3.2%. Xiaomi (01810.HK) and Bilibili (09626.HK) opened down 0.1%, NetEase (09999.HK) opened down 1.3%, and JD.com (09618.HK) opened flat at HKD 113.5. In the automotive sector, Geely (00175.HK) opened up 0.7%, BYD (01211.HK) opened flat at HKD 96.05, while Li Auto (02015.HK) and Nio (09866.HK) opened down 1% and 0.9%, respectively, and XPeng (09868.HK) opened down 1.9%. CATL (03750.HK) opened flat at HKD 512, with the lock-up period for cornerstone investors expiring today.
CICC plans to absorb and merge China Cinda (01359.HK) subsidiary Cinda Securities (601059.SH) and Dongxing Securities (601198.SH) through a share swap. China Cinda (01359.HK) opened up 7.3% at HKD 1.33, while CICC (03908.HK) was suspended from trading, last reported at HKD 18.96. In other financial stocks, HSBC (00005.HK) opened up 0.2%, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) opened up 1% and 1.6%, respectively.
