Among the 11 sectors of the S&P 500 Index, the telecommunications sector rose by 2.15%, the healthcare sector increased by 2.11%, the materials sector gained 2.1%, the consumer discretionary sector rose by 1.74%, the information technology/technology sector had a slight increase of 0.07%, ranking second to last, while the utilities sector was roughly flat
