Forbes: Google co-founder Larry Page ascends to the world's second richest person
According to estimates by Forbes, Google co-founder Larry Page surpassed Oracle (ORCL.US) founder Larry Ellison on Monday to become the world's second richest person, as the stock price of parent company Alphabet (GOOG.US) has continued to rise for several weeks driven by the artificial intelligence boom.
Page co-founded Google in 1998 with Sergey Brin, and his net worth is estimated at $255 billion, increasing by $8.7 billion on Monday.
Due to a decline in Oracle's stock price in recent weeks, Ellison's net worth is estimated to have dropped to $248.8 billion. Brin surpassed Amazon (AMZN.US) founder Jeff Bezos to become the fourth richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $236.4 billion
