
The pan-European STOXX 600 index closed up nearly 1%, with Novo Nordisk rising over 4%
Market expectations for a rate cut by the Federal Reserve in December have resurfaced, with European stocks closing slightly higher on Monday, as the pan-European STOXX 600 index rose by 0.9%.
Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk announced positive results from the mid-term trials of its new generation weight loss drug Amycretin, with its stock price rising over 4%.
The UK FTSE 100 index closed up 74 points or 0.8%, at 9,609 points. The German DAX index closed up 225 points or 1%, at 23,464 points. The French CAC40 index closed up 66 points or 0.8%, at 8,025 points
