Sector Update: Energy Stocks Edge Higher Pre-Bell Thursday

Energy stocks edged higher pre-bell Thursday. The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) rose 0.1%, US Oil Fund (USO) up 0.01%, and US Natural Gas Fund (UNG) down 1.1%. WTI crude oil increased 0.6% to $59.30/barrel, Brent crude up 0.5% to $62.99/barrel, and natural gas futures down 1.1% to $4.94/MMBtu. Chevron (CVX) stock rose 0.1% with $18-19 billion earmarked for 2026 capital expenditures. Exxon Mobil (XOM) shares up 0.1% as it plans to wind down operations in Singapore. Equinor (EQNR) started production at Verdande field; shares down 0.5%.
