The EU re-examines whether to impose tariffs on Volkswagen's production of electric SUVs in China
The European Union is re-examining the tariffs imposed on the electric SUVs produced by the German automaker Volkswagen in China to determine whether the relevant models can be exempted from anti-subsidy duties.
This review focuses on the 20.7% tariff levied on the Cupra Tavascan produced in cooperation with Volkswagen and Hefei. Volkswagen's Chinese joint venture and its Spanish brand Seat have proposed establishing an annual import quota and a minimum import price for this model. If accepted, the relevant models could be exempted from anti-subsidy duties
