Hope Walz: Trump slur against father unleashed ‘s—storm’ toward family

The daughter of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) said President Trump’s targeted attack on her father has released a firestorm of negativity aimed at her family in recent days. In a since-deleted TikTok video posted on Saturday, Hope Walz fiercely defended her family after Trump called her father “seriously ret—ed,” saying she draws a line when it comes to attacks at her brother, Gus, who has a non-verbal learning disorder. “I’m talking about this because, while my family and I are always going to be the bigger people, the president calling my dad what he did has unleashed a f—ing s—storm regarding offensive language towards me and my family and specifically my brother,” Hope Walz said in the video, according to multiple media outlets. “You can call me whatever you want, you can call my dad, my mom, when it’s Gus, f— to the no. He dealt with people calling him that last August and now there’s a resurgence? No,” Hope Walz said, referring to the period after her father was selected to serve as former Vice President Harris’s running mate. Hope Walz fired back at the president for using a slur against her father, saying it’s “utterly disgraceful.” “How is it OK that the president of the United States can call somebody, anybody doesn’t matter who they are, that, and then all of his fricking cult members come and attack those people and that person’s family,” Hope Walz said. “Say what you want about my dad — he’s an elected official. That’s going to happen,” she said. “I think it’s utterly disgraceful that the president would do that, but then the attacks that I have seen. I have people DMing me saying absolutely horrendous things.” Hope Walz said her family has seen horrible messages on social media and in person. She said someone drove by a shouted the “r-word” a few days earlier. “I’m like what world are we f—ing living in, and again, I draw a line at Gus because he dealt with that s— before and not again,” she said at the end of her video. “You people are f—ing disgraceful. Shame on you, all of you.”
