NetJets to Equip 600 Private Jets with Starlink Wi-Fi by 2026

NetJets has struck a deal with Starlink to bring satellite-based Wi-Fi to hundreds of its business jets, making it one of the largest aviation partnerships yet for SpaceX’s fast-growing in-flight connectivity service. Under the agreement announced on Wednesday, Starlink terminals will be installed on around 600 aircraft in the U.S. and Europe over the next year. The first upgrades are expected to begin this month, with full deployment planned by the end of 2026. The additions will cover several popular business jet models used heavily in NetJets’ operations, including Cessna Citation Latitudes and Longitudes, Embraer Praetor 500s, Bombardier Challenger 350s and 650s, and the entire Bombardier Global fleet. A portion of the European operation will also receive upgrades on similar Challenger and Global aircraft. “This agreement with Starlink positions NetJets to continue delivering exceptional travel experiences for our Owners and their guests,” said Patrick Gallagher, President, NetJets Aviation. “With Starlink, travel is elevated with reliable connectivity whether our Owners are flying for business or leisure—as seamless connectivity is critical to the experience our Owners need and deserve.” For NetJets, one of the world’s largest private jet providers, improving passenger connectivity has become a competitive priority. Fractional jet owners and corporate users often rely on the ability to stay online during flights between business centres, and reliable service is especially valuable on transcontinental routes and remote destinations where current aviation Wi-Fi options can fall short. Starlink Aviation has continued gaining momentum as the network expands. The NetJets deal follows other recent commitments from commercial airlines and private operators, making Starlink the de-facto industry standard for in-flight Wi-Fi. Not only does SpaceX’s Starlink Aviation package offer unrivaled speeds, it also has much simpler onboard hardware and faster installation compared to legacy solutions.
