Marco Rubio bans Calibri font at State Department for being too DEI

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has banned the use of the Calibri font at the State Department, citing its association with diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEI). Instead, diplomats are now required to use Times New Roman for official documents. The decision follows the disbandment of the DEI office under Rubio amid the Trump administration's anti-DEI directives. Calibri was initially adopted in 2023 to improve readability for the vision impaired. Rubio's memo claims Times New Roman will restore decorum and professionalism to official correspondence.
