UK bond yields surged and then retreated after the release of the US non-farm payroll report

On Tuesday (December 16), in the European market's late trading session, the yield on the UK 10-year government bonds rose by 2.2 basis points to 4.518%, remaining in an upward trend throughout the day. It fell below 4.520% when the U.S. non-farm payroll report was released at 21:30 Beijing time, and then quickly rose to 4.561%, setting a new daily high.

The yield on the 2-year UK bonds increased by 1.1 basis points to 3.765%, reaching a new daily high of 3.798% after the non-farm payroll report was released.

The yield on the 30-year UK bonds rose by 1.5 basis points, while the yield on the 50-year UK bonds increased by 0.4 basis points.

The yield spread between the 2-year and 10-year UK bonds rose by 0.843 basis points to +74.919 basis points
