The 2027 Dodge Charger EV Gets A Tesla Charging Port

The 2027 Daytona EV, which can be ordered now, is Stellantis’ first electric car with a factory-installed Tesla-style NACS charging port, enabling it to use over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers in North America without a charging adapter.What’s more, the starting price of the battery-powered muscle car has gone down a little compared to the outgoing model, with the 2027 Charger Daytona Scat Pack starting from $74,490 (including destination charges), down $1,490 from last year’s $75,980. Gallery: 2026 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack Sedan 20 Source: Dodge Stellantis said that the slightly updated electric Charger will come standard with a J1772 to NACS AC adapter to make life a little easier for new owners, but customers will have to pay extra for a CCS1 to NACS adapter if they want to use CCS1-equipped chargers like those offered by Electrify America and EVgo.Just like on the previous models, the 2027 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack features a dual-motor powertrain that makes 630 horsepower, with an additional 40 hp available for 10 seconds when the PowerShot feature is activated. The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which makes the EV sound like it has a V-8 engine under the hood, is part of the standard kit. Powered by a 94-kilowatt-hour battery pack rated at roughly 400 volts, the 2027 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack has an estimated driving range of 267 miles on a full charge, the same as the outgoing model. The automaker didn’t say how fast the NACS-equipped EV would charge, but we know from previous models that it takes roughly 24 minutes to go from 20% to 80% state of charge. It should be the same for the 2027 model, too, when plugged into a Tesla Supercharger, the vast majority of which are rated at 400V.Ever since its introduction as a 2024 model, the electric Dodge Charger has been a bit of a mess. Build quality issues and software gremlins, as well as the fact that it doesn’t have a V-8 under the hood, have led to poor sales numbers and frustrated owners.
