On December 22, the newly built Guangzhou-Zhanjiang High-Speed Railway (referred to as "Guangzhan High-Speed Railway"), constructed with the participation of China Railway Construction Corporation, commenced operations. With this, western Guangdong officially enters the era of high-speed rail at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
