The Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park officially opened, with two wet laboratory buildings attracting over 60 enterprises and research institutions preparing to move in
The Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, also known as the He Tao Hong Kong Park, officially opened yesterday (22nd). The first phase of the park's initial batch of three buildings, including two wet laboratories and a talent apartment, has been fully completed and put into operation, laying a solid foundation for the transition of the He Tao Cooperation Zone from planning to substantial operation.
The two wet laboratory buildings that have commenced operations have attracted over 60 enterprises and research institutions from overseas, mainland China, and local areas, which are preparing to settle in, covering pillar industries such as life and health technology, artificial intelligence, microelectronics, and new energy. Including shared facilities available for tenants, such as biobanks and data centers, the occupancy rate is nearly 80%. The remaining five buildings in the first phase are expected to be completed gradually starting in 2027. The Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park has also invited the market to submit letters of intent for the second and third batches of development in the first phase, receiving positive responses from the market. Plans are in place to gradually release the remaining land in the park to the market starting next year, inviting the industry to jointly develop the park, implementing the development concept of "proactive government" and "efficient market" public-private cooperation.
Eric Wu, CEO of the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Company, stated that the official opening of the park is an important starting point for Hong Kong-Shenzhen innovation cooperation. The park will actively align with the strategic planning of the central government and the SAR government in the field of innovation and technology, making good use of the advantages of "one river, two banks, one area, two parks," continuously improving research and industrial support, attracting innovative talents and enterprises from both domestic and international markets, and striving to develop into a world-class technology innovation hub connecting the mainland and the international community, as well as an important source for the country's cultivation and development of new productive forces.
In terms of industrial development, the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park focuses on six pillar industries: life and health technology, artificial intelligence and data science, new energy, new materials, microelectronics, and robotics, and is committed to accelerating the commercialization of research results from laboratories through industry-academia-research collaboration. At the same time, the park focuses on the two cutting-edge fields of life and health technology and artificial intelligence and data science, launching nurturing programs guided by world-class incubators and industry-leading enterprises, providing funding support, professional guidance, and concept validation opportunities for eligible startups at the three stages of initiation, leap, and acceleration, helping the innovation and technology ecosystem thrive and enterprises develop internationally.
The Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park will also actively cooperate and jointly explore the possibilities for the convenient cross-border flow of innovative elements, including arrangements for the flow of people, materials, funds, and data, enhancing the efficient connection and collaborative development between Hong Kong and Shenzhen
