The Civil Aviation Accident Investigation Authority released a preliminary report and announcement regarding a serious incident involving Cathay Pacific Airways (00293.HK) Airbus A350-1041 aircraft on November 26. A spokesperson stated that the investigation team is currently conducting a detailed analysis of the collected data and information to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident, to prevent similar events from occurring again, and to identify the scope of further investigation and follow-up investigation directions.
The aircraft flew from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, to Hong Kong, and during an attempt to land on the runway at Hong Kong International Airport, the crew decided to abort the landing and go around due to operational reasons. During this process, the tail section of the aircraft made contact with the runway and was damaged, but the aircraft ultimately landed normally on the runway
