
Xinjiang cotton production has surpassed 6 million tons for the first time
On December 26th, the National Bureau of Statistics released the cotton production announcement for 2025, stating that cotton production in China's main cotton-producing region, Xinjiang, has surpassed 6 million tons for the first time, with a total production of 6.165 million tons, accounting for 92.8% of the national output. The announcement indicated that the planting area for Xinjiang cotton is 38.875 million mu, with a cotton (lint) yield of 158.6 kg/mu, showing a slight increase compared to the previous year, and the yield is 10 kg/mu higher than the national average cotton yield.
