American billionaire Elon Musk stated that his artificial intelligence startup xAI has purchased a third building to expand its infrastructure, aiming to increase its computing power to nearly 2 gigawatts. He posted on his social media platform X that xAI has acquired a third building but did not disclose its location.

According to a report by the technology media outlet The Information, the proposed site for the third super-large data center is located on the outskirts of Memphis, Tennessee, and xAI plans to begin converting the newly acquired warehouse into a data center next year.

xAI's supercomputer cluster "Colossus" in Memphis is hailed as the largest in the world, and there are plans to expand Colossus to accommodate at least 1 million graphics processing units (GPUs)
