Japan confirms the first avian influenza outbreak in 2026
On January 2, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan announced that a highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak occurred at a poultry farm in Miyazaki Prefecture. This is the first avian influenza outbreak in Japan in 2026 and the 13th outbreak during this avian influenza epidemic season in Japan. (CCTV)
