Lei Jun: Xiaomi will invest at least 200 billion RMB in R&D over the next five years, with a car delivery target of 550,000 units this year

Xiaomi Corporation-W (01810.HK) founder and chairman Lei Jun revealed in the first live broadcast of 2026 that the company will invest at least 200 billion yuan (the same below) in technology research and development over the next five years. In the past five years, approximately 105 billion yuan has already been invested.

Lei Jun also disclosed that Xiaomi's car deliveries will exceed 410,000 units for the entire year of 2025, with a delivery target of 550,000 units for 2026. He indicated that more focus will be placed on automobiles in 2026, and the delivery target should neither be too high nor too low, setting it at 550,000 units in hopes of surpassing the target.

In the live broadcast, Lei Jun also mentioned that the Xiaomi Automobile Yizhuang factory will host 130,000 visitors for tours and experiences throughout 2025.
