The founder of China Evergrande Group, Xu Jiayin, has not paid approximately HKD 1.2 million in legal fees in the liquidation case. Judge Ouyang Haorong will issue a written judgment within three months after hearing both parties' arguments.

In the liquidation case, Xu Jiayin was taken over by the liquidator last year for refusing to comply with a court order to disclose assets. The liquidator previously applied to the court to prohibit Xu Jiayin from continuing the relevant litigation unless he pays approximately HKD 1.2 million in legal fees within a specified period.

The liquidator stated that there is no evidence showing that Xu Jiayin intends to comply with the court order, nor has he explained his financial difficulties. If he is unable to pay the court fees, the court proceedings need to be halted. Xu Jiayin's side claimed that he has approximately HKD 20 million held by a former lawyer, and the delay in paying the legal fees is currently due to issues with fund transfers
