<p>JAKARTA, Jan 6 (Reuters) - Malaysian palm oil futures rose for a second straight session on Tuesday, supported by strength in rival edible oils in Dalian and Chicago.</p>
<p>The benchmark palm oil contract  (FCPOc3)  for March delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange gained 11 ringgit, or 0.27%, to 4,025 ringgit ($992.60) a metric ton by 0237 GMT.</p>
<h3>FUNDAMENTALS</h3>
<ul>
<li>Dalian’s most-active soyoil contract  (DBYcv1)  rose 0.84%, while its palm oil contract  (DCPcv1)  was up 0.84%. Soyoil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade  (BOc2)  gained 0.28%.</li>
<li>Palm oil tracks the price movements of rival edible oils, as it competes for a share of the global vegetable oils market.</li>
<li>Malaysia’s palm oil inventories are expected to have risen to their highest in almost seven years in December, as strong production overpowered a modest improvement in exports, a Reuters survey showed.</li>
<li>India’s palm oil imports fell to an eight-month low in December, weighed down by weaker winter demand and as refiners increased purchases of rival oils such as soyoil and sunflower oil, according to five dealers.</li>
<li>Indonesia exported 20.85 million tons of crude and refined palm oil in the January-November period of last year, up 4.32% from a year earlier, the statistics bureau said.</li>
<li>Palm oil looks neutral in a range of 3,975 ringgit to 4,024 ringgit per ton, and an escape could suggest a direction, Reuters technical analyst Wang Tao said. (TECH/C)</li>
