Located just off Interstate 5 at West Panoche Road, the Firebaugh Supercharger currently operates with 56 V3 charging stalls and has served as a key charging stop for drivers traveling between Los Angeles and the Bay Area since it opened in late 2020, when at the time it was the largest Supercharger in the world. That site is now approved for a massive expansion that will increase its capacity more than fivefold. According to plans uncovered by Marco on X, Tesla has been granted a conditional use permit to build an additional 232 Supercharger stalls on land directly north of the existing site. When those new stalls are added to the original 56, the Firebaugh location will have a total of 288 stalls for passenger vehicles. In addition, Tesla is also planning to install 16 dedicated Tesla Semi Megacharger stalls, bringing the overall total to 304 charging posts. It connects major ports in Southern California with distribution hubs in the Central Valley and the Bay Area, making it an ideal location for both consumer and Semi truck charging. As noted, Firebaugh previously held the title of Tesla’s largest Supercharger when it opened in 2020 with 56 stalls, a record that was later surpassed by newer sites in California and China. This expansion however will firmly return that title to Firebaugh, establishing it as Tesla’s largest charging hub globally. </div></div>
