CATL Batteries Stand Out For Minimal Degradation In EVs And Long-Term Energy Storage Systems

Morgan Stanley's research on battery degradation in China revealed that CATL batteries exhibit minimal degradation in electric vehicles (EVs) and long-term energy storage systems. The study, which analyzed data from 100 EVs, found that CATL batteries in Model 11 and Model 12 showed the slowest degradation rates. In a long-term evaluation at the Zhangbei National Wind–Solar–Storage Demonstration Project, CATL batteries maintained approximately 90% capacity after 14 years, unlike other suppliers that faced significant replacements. This performance contributes to CATL's status as the world's largest battery manufacturer.
