Interactive Brokers says betting on US midterm elections should juice growth of its platform

Interactive Brokers' founder Thomas Peterffy anticipates growth for its prediction markets platform, ForecastEx, as Americans bet on the U.S. midterm elections. The platform allows investors to buy contracts on various questions, and Peterffy plans to integrate it with other services by 2026. Following regulatory changes, prediction markets have surged, with competitors like Polymarket and Kalshi gaining traction. Interactive Brokers, valued at $120 billion, also expands into cryptocurrency and has seen significant growth in customer accounts. Peterffy supports the independence of the Federal Reserve amid scrutiny of its leadership.
