European stocks focus shifts to Greenland negotiations, the pan-European STOXX 600 index closes slightly higher
Investors are paying attention to the upcoming meetings between officials from the United States, Greenland, and Denmark, which will discuss the future of Greenland. European stock markets showed mixed performance on Wednesday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.2% for the day.
Oil giant BP warned on Wednesday that it expects to record impairment charges of $4 billion to $5 billion for the fourth quarter of last year. The stock rose 1.5%.
The UK FTSE 100 index closed up 47 points or 0.5% at 10,184 points. The German DAX index closed down 134 points or 0.5% at 25,286 points. The French CAC 40 index closed down 16 points or 0.2% at 8,330 points
