According to reports, Paramount met with Macron to lobby for support from the EU and France for the acquisition of Warner Bros
According to foreign media reports, Paramount Skydance (PSKY.US) executives recently held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, seeking support in Europe for a hostile takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD.US) for $104.8 billion.
According to informed sources, Paramount executives also visited London on Thursday to consult with British officials in an effort to gain support from Europe.
Warner Bros. agreed to Netflix's (NFLX.US) acquisition proposal of $27.75 per share in cash and stock, rejecting Paramount's acquisition plan. However, Netflix's acquisition of Warner Bros. may reshape the entertainment industry landscape and will face regulatory scrutiny and approval in the U.S. and Europe
