The number of new unemployment claims in the U.S. unexpectedly fell last week, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 292 points or 0.6% overnight. The People's Bank of China announced measures yesterday (15th) to lower interest rates on various structural monetary policy tools, leading the Hang Seng Index to open 171 points or 0.6% higher this morning, at 27,094 points; the National Index opened 63 points or 0.7% higher at 9,330 points; and the Hang Seng Tech Index opened 55 points or 0.9% higher at 5,883 points.

In the automotive sector, Nio (09863.HK) CEO Li Bin stated that the company delivered 40,000 ES8s last quarter and is expected to achieve its profit target, with its stock opening 0.6% higher. Xiaomi (01810.HK) launched a seven-year low-interest car purchase plan with monthly payments of less than CNY 2,600, opening 0.4% higher. BYD (01211.HK) opened 1.9% higher at HKD 101, while Geely (00175.HK), Li Auto (02015.HK), Leapmotor (09863.HK), and XPeng (09868.HK) opened 0.7% to 0.9% higher.

According to reports, CK Hutchison (00001.HK) is seeking to list Watsons in Hong Kong and London as early as next quarter, with a target valuation of USD 30 billion, and CK Hutchison opened 2.2% higher at HKD 60.75. WuXi Biologics (02269.HK) major shareholder Biologics reduced its stake at a discount of 3.7%, raising over CNY 5.7 billion, with WuXi Biologics opening 3.4% lower at HKD 38.66. In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK) opened 0.6% higher at HKD 129, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) opened 0.2% higher, while AIA (01299.HK) opened 0.6% lower.

China Molybdenum (03993.HK) expects its annual net profit to increase by at least 47% to CNY 20 billion, with its stock opening 1% higher at HKD 22.62. YouRan Agriculture (09858.HK) is offering a discount of over 8.8% for a rights issue to its controlling shareholder Yili, raising a total of CNY 2.346 billion, with the stock opening 5.1% lower at HKD 4.08
