
"Major Banks" Citigroup: Survey shows multiple high rollers emerging in Macau
Citigroup's report indicates that the proprietary gaming table survey conducted in January this year once again yielded surprisingly high-end mid-market data: (i) The average bet per gambler was HKD 28,424, comparable to the levels during the 2025 Golden Week. (ii) The total bets from 28 high rollers observed by the bank reached HKD 8.1 million, meaning the average bet per high roller was HKD 290,000, a year-on-year increase of 49%. (iii) The bank encountered 6 high rollers with bets of HKD 500,000 or more, whereas there were only two such individuals in January last year.
Citigroup stated that this may be related to the promotional campaign offering tickets to the Blackpink concert in Hong Kong, as well as the concert by Lin Feng held at the Venetian Macao and the concert by Wang Hedi at the Galaxy Macau, or the collaboration with the popular trendy toy IP "Twinkle Twinkle."
