Only 6% of private healthcare investment goes to women's health despite women making up almost half of the population.
A recent report by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with BCG revealed that women's health receives a mere 6% of private healthcare investment, despite women making up almost 50% of the global population. The study, titled the 2026 Women's Health Investment Outlook, highlights the stark disparity in funding allocation. This imbalance poses a significant challenge as women's health needs remain underfunded and neglected, impacting a substantial portion of society. The limited available funds predominantly flow towards other areas of healthcare, which indicates a pressing need for increased investment and prioritization in women's health initiatives.
