Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: AI has penetrated over 70% of business scenarios in leading intelligent factories, and last year the scale of the core AI industry is expected to exceed 1.2 trillion RMB

Zhang Yunming, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that according to relevant institutions' estimates, the number of artificial intelligence companies in mainland China will exceed 6,000 by 2025, with the core industry scale expected to surpass 1.2 trillion yuan. Currently, AI applications have covered key industries such as steel, non-ferrous metals, electricity, and telecommunications, gradually penetrating into key links such as product research and development, quality inspection, and customer service.

Xie Cun, Director of the Information and Communication Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated at the meeting that AI has now penetrated over 70% of the business scenarios in leading intelligent factories, with more than 6,000 vertical field models accumulated, driving the large-scale application of over 1,700 key intelligent manufacturing equipment and industrial software, forming a group of industrial intelligences with perception, decision-making, and execution capabilities, promoting the improvement of intelligent manufacturing from automation to autonomy
