The Shanghai Municipal Statistics Bureau and the National Bureau of Statistics Shanghai Investigation Team released the "2025 Shanghai National Economic Operation Situation" report, showing that in 2025, Shanghai achieved a total foreign trade import and export volume of 4.51 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%, setting a historical high for import and export scale. Among them, merchandise exports grew rapidly, with "new three samples" products performing remarkably. The merchandise export volume was 2.02 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.8%; the merchandise import volume was 2.49 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.8%.
