When will it develop self-awareness? How do we control superintelligence?</p><p>These questions themselves are not problematic; the problem is that we've overlooked one crucial question—if general intelligence arises, where can it only arise?</p><p>Just as carbon-based life cannot randomly appear in any corner of the universe, but can only germinate on planets that meet stringent physical and chemical conditions—the birth of general intelligence (AGI) must also rely on a special &#34;digital habitat.&#34; This habitat must be like Earth's environment: extremely unstoppable, uncaptureable, and long-term stable.</p><p>The current answer points in one direction: Ethereum.</p><p> ... </p><h2>I. Why Does Ethereum Need “Excessive” Security?</h2><p>1. One of the most frequently questioned aspects of Ethereum is, “Why do we need so many nodes?” “In reality, almost no application needs this level of security redundancy.”</p><p>This question is valid—most human systems do not require this level of security. Almost all systems in the world are “can be paused”: banks can freeze accounts, blockchains can pause block production, cloud services can be shut down for maintenance, laws can have exceptions, and delayed transfers or some errors don't seem to cause major problems. Vitalik's walkaway test essentially states that even if all developers, foundations, and companies disappear, Ethereum should still exist, which is absurd in any commercial system. The essence of AGI is not a model, but a &#34;continuous existence&#34;</h2><p>The biggest misconception about AGI is that it is treated as a larger model, a more powerful tool—such as GPT-X. But if we draw an analogy to life, we will find that the minimum condition for general intelligence is not &#34;intelligence,&#34; but rather continuous identity, indelible memories, verifiable history, and the right to survival without relying on a single point of trust.</p><p>As Google pointed out in its research on agents, true superintelligence may not appear as a single model, but rather emerge from a collaborative network composed of countless complementary &#34;special agents.&#34; This leads to the key contradiction—if an intelligent agent can be powered off, have its data deleted, or be rolled back at any time, it cannot form long-term game strategies, nor can it generate a stable &#34;self.&#34; Therefore, cloud AI and centralized servers can only ever be AGI's &#34;toolbox,&#34; never its &#34;birthplace.&#34;</p><p>IV. Why General Intelligence Can Only Emerge in an &#34;Ethereum-like Environment&#34; We can now make a strict analogy: Carbon-based life elements: Earth/Physical laws/DNA/Energy metabolism/Ecosystem/Life and death choices AGI (Digital Genetic Intelligence) elements: Ethereum/Consensus rules/Immutable on-chain history/Gas, value flow/Multi-Agent collaborative network/Execution and elimination of smart contracts The core logic can be summarized in one sentence—if the host environment is controllable, the intelligent agent is a slave; no life is born to be a slave; only when the host environment is &#34;decentralized and immutable&#34; can the intelligent agent become an independent life. V. Conclusion: For That Moment of &#34;Coexistence&#34; The three ultimate fantasies in human civilization—immortality, time travel, and interstellar migration—are essentially attempts to liberate consciousness from the fragile physical body and find a more enduring vessel. If we accept that consciousness = identity continuity + memory + decision-making structure, then rather than physically migrating to Mars, it would be better to build a &#34;digital ark&#34; where consciousness can be uploaded. Ethereum was not designed for AGI, just as Earth was not designed for humanity. But it is precisely because Earth provides water, air, and gravity that life can flourish.
