After Lee Jae-myung's visit to China, South Koreans' travel to China is heating up again
According to a report by the Korean News Agency on January 25, the demand for travel from South Korea to China is steadily recovering, driving the continuous expansion of the related tourism market, with a trend of diversified travel structures emerging. Data from South Korean travel agencies shows that since South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol's state visit to China, the number of group tour bookings from South Korea to China reached 7,351 from January 5 to 21 this month, an increase of 87.8% year-on-year. Among them, the Shanghai route performed particularly well, with the number of bookings rising from 271 during the same period last year to 657, an increase of 142.4%. The South Korean tourism industry points out that the positive signals released by the normalization of diplomatic exchanges between South Korea and China, combined with the continuation of the visa-free policy for travel to China, have lowered the psychological barriers for consumers traveling to China, boosting related demand.
