Guangdong sets this year's GDP growth target at 4.5% to 5%

The Fifth Session of the 14th Guangdong Provincial People's Congress opened this morning (26th) in Guangzhou. Guangdong Province Governor Meng Fanli delivered a government work report indicating that the main expected goals for Guangdong in 2026 include: a GDP growth of 4.5% to 5%, a local general public budget revenue growth of around 3%, and synchronization of resident income growth with economic growth.

At the same time, key area reforms will continue to deepen in 2026. A comprehensive, efficient, and verifiable mechanism for promoting and implementing reforms will be established to ensure the effective implementation of various reform tasks deployed by the state and province. The second batch of authorized matters for the Shenzhen comprehensive reform pilot will be accelerated. Fiscal reforms will be deepened, with a focus on the "five major articles" of finance, cultivating and introducing more financial market entities, supporting the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in deepening ChiNext reforms, and accelerating the expansion and quality improvement of regional equity trading markets
